Fleece pullover definition |
| Fleece
pullover originally meant a kind of thick sheep-wool sweater. It was usually
manufactured with or without buttons on the front, long or short sleeves,
and various colors. This kind of sweater was primarily worn during cold
seasons due to its style and warmth. Being the most popular fiber, the
wool of fleece pullover would warm and ventilate the body at the same time
and was utilized for casual, formal, and sport’s wear. However, today
the definition of fleece
pullover has become different. The “fleece” part
of it has lost its real meaning and the fleece pullover expression had
become to mean any kind of sport or casual sweater, made of any sort of
material such as polyester, cotton, rayon and other. For example, traditional
sweatshirts are now called fleece pullovers. While many sweatshirts may
appear in the form of a pullover, majority of sweatshirts are not made
of fleece but cotton or polyester. This definition of pullover is increasingly popular among all generations today. With the help from celebrities and media, unattractive sweatshirts were reinvented by famous fashion design houses to the modern, popular, and sporty everyday wear. Today, people wear such pullovers to exercise and to go out. Modern sweaters can take many shapes and colors (and can be made of many materials) to satisfy the most spoiled taste. |
